History of Ikebana
Since the begining of time, humans have loved flowers and all cultures have enjoyed it through the centuries.
It was a budhist monk in Kyoto (Old Capital of Japan) called Ikenobo, who settled the rules of flower arrangement in which the viewer could appreciate not only the flowers, but appreciate nature, the container and the mind and soul of the person who arranged the flowers.
Ikebana International (association) Founded in August 1956, was the vision of Mrs. Ellen Gordon Allen to establish an International organization for the appreciation of the art of Ikebana. English is the official language, a cherry blossom is the official logo.
